High school math courses your team can teach.
Proofstone makes complete Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 courses for microschools, hybrid schools and small international schools. Each one is built so an adult who isn't a math specialist can teach it well to a small group.
Founding seats for fall 2027 are $150 per student for the year, locked for three years.
The courses
Each is a full school year, aligned to the Common Core State Standards.
- Pre-Algebra
- Rational numbers, exponents and scientific notation, linear equations, proportional relationships and a first look at functions.
- Algebra 1
- Linear equations and inequalities, functions, systems of equations, exponential growth and decay, and quadratics.
- Geometry
- Transformations, congruence and similarity, proof, right-triangle trigonometry, circles, and area and volume.
- Algebra 2
- Polynomial, rational, exponential and logarithmic functions, trigonometric functions, and statistics.
What each course includes
Everything a school needs to run the course, and why each piece is there.
| Step | Statements | Reasons |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | A short video lesson for each class day | Students hear every new idea explained by a math teacher. |
| 2 | A day-by-day facilitator guide | Whoever runs class knows what to say, what to ask and where students get stuck. |
| 3 | Student practice and group activities | Every class day has work ready to hand out, as printable PDFs and editable files. |
| 4 | Quizzes and unit tests with answer keys | The keys explain the usual mistakes, so grading doesn't need a specialist either. |
| 5 | A pacing calendar for 4-day or 5-day weeks | The course fits the schedule you already run. |
| 6 | A monthly live office hour, plus email support | A math teacher is on call when a question stumps the room. |
| Therefore | Your students get a full year of math, taught well. | |
How the founding round works
A course gets built for fall 2027 once schools reserve 50 seats in it. If yours falls short, your deposit comes back in full.
- Reserve seats with a refundable $50-per-seat deposit.
- I confirm which courses reached 50 seats across all schools.
- If your course fell short, move your deposit to one that made it or get a full refund.
- The first two units arrive. Each later unit arrives at least four weeks before your calendar needs it.
- The remaining $100 per seat is due.
Price
Founding schools pay $150 per student, per course, per year, locked through the 2029–30 school year. The regular price will be $225. There's no minimum, so two students means two seats.
If the course isn't working for your students in the first 30 days of classes, tell me and I'll refund the year in full.
What I ask in return
A 20-minute check-in each month during the first year, honest notes on what works and what doesn't, and a short testimonial only if you're happy with the course.
Questions schools ask
- Why not use a free curriculum?
- Free curricula give you the math. This gives the adult teaching it a video lesson and a script for each day, plus answer keys that explain the mistakes.
- Is it built on existing material?
- Partly. It adapts an openly licensed curriculum, credited in the materials, and adds everything a non-specialist needs to teach it.
- Is it aligned to standards?
- Yes. Every course is aligned to the Common Core State Standards.
- What if only two students need it?
- Buy two seats. There's no minimum.
Who builds the courses
I'm Matt Byers. I hold a Physics B.S. from Indiana University and an M.Ed. in Educational Technology from Moreland University, and I'm a licensed Kentucky math teacher.
As founding faculty at the Canadian School of Ulaanbaatar, I designed its grades 9–12 math curriculum, including AP Calculus. You can try one of my interactive lessons.
